Notebook is the story of Raju (Rajeev), an orphan. His life changes when a zamindar takes him under his custody so that he can give company to his little daughter. Raju becomes a companion and playmate to the zamindar's daughter, Nandini (Gayathri). Raju and Nandini grow up together. They play, study, and form a deep bond based on shared childhood memories and quiet affection. As they grow up to become young adults, Nandini realizes she is in love with Raju. She starts writing her feelings, thoughts, and emotions in a personal notebook. She gives this notebook to Raju so that he knows about her love and her feelings for him. However, Raju is hesitant and unsure. He does not fully understand the depth of her feelings at first. He is worried about their different social backgrounds. He fears how society and Nandini’s father will react to their love because she is wealthy and he is not. Even though Nandini is bold and tries to bring him closer, Raju pulls away. He believes their worlds are too different. The notebook becomes a symbol of their unspoken love and missed chances. Over time, both Raju and Nandini are pushed to make difficult choices. What happens to their relationship? Do they find the courage to be together, breaking the barriers created by doubt and social status? To know how the story unwinds, watch Notebook.
